Privacy Policy
Welcome to SumnuTyping.com (“we”, “our”, or “us”). We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use sumnutyping.com. The site is published by Eric Lewis. Privacy requests go to sales@sumnubooks.com.
Information we collect
We collect the following kinds of information:
- Account information. If you create an account, we collect your username, email address, and password. Passwords are stored through Supabase authentication, not as plain text in the page.
- Usage data. If you save a result or post a score, we keep typing-test details such as words per minute, accuracy, errors, and test duration.
- Local storage. Typing history, settings, achievements, lesson progress, and a Type Racer ghost can be stored in this browser with localStorage. An exported
.sumnudatafile stays on your machine unless you choose to move it. - Google sign-in. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. We do not receive your Google password.
- Cookies and similar storage. We use browser storage for sign-in. The advertising section below describes the AdSense script separately.
How we use information
- To run the typing tests, lessons, games, and profile tools
- To show a score on the rankings when you choose to post it
- To keep a history of tests you saved
- To send account email such as a password reset
- To understand technical problems you report
We do not sell your personal information.
Advertising script
SumnuTyping loads Google’s AdSense script, and the layout includes labeled advertisement placeholders. Because that script loads, Google may receive technical data such as browser and page information under Google’s own policies. Live ad units are not part of this update. If units are enabled later, this section will be revised before that change, and Google may then use cookies to measure and serve ads. We do not describe the current site as free of all third-party requests while the script is present.

Who we share data with
- Supabase, which stores account information and rankings scores
- Google, for optional Google sign-in and for the AdSense script described above
- Netlify, which hosts the site
A username and score you post to rankings are visible to other people looking at that board. Lesson progress and the .sumnudata export are not posted unless you share the file yourself.
Retention and deletion
Account data is kept while the account is active. You can erase local browser data from Profile with Clear Data. That control does not, by itself, delete a rankings row already stored on the account. To ask for deletion of an account and the data tied to it, email sales@sumnubooks.com. Include the email on the account and the page you mean.
Children
SumnuTyping is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data. People in the European Economic Area have additional rights under the GDPR. To use any of these rights, email sales@sumnubooks.com. We would rather correct a record than argue about it.
Changes
We update this policy by changing the date at the top and noting the shipment on the updates log when the change is more than a typo. Continued use of the site after a posted change means you accept the updated policy.
