Terms of Service
By accessing or using SumnuTyping.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site. The site is published by Eric Lewis. Questions about these terms go to sales@sumnubooks.com.
The service
SumnuTyping provides a free online typing practice site: speed tests, typing games, touch-typing lessons, rankings, and a profile with a local export. The tools are free to use. The site is intended to be supported by advertising. A score here is practice feedback. It is not a certified exam, a job offer, or a medical assessment.
Accounts
You may practice, play, and use lessons without an account. If you create an account, you are responsible for the security of the password and for the accuracy of the email and username you submit. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. We may close an account that breaks these terms.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use bots or other automation to inflate scores on the rankings
- Attempt to disrupt, scrape in a way that harms the service, or break into the site or its infrastructure
- Use the site for an unlawful purpose
- Impersonate another person or pick a username that is misleading or abusive
- Interfere with the advertising script or pretend a placeholder is a click you are owed
Rankings and names
If you post a score, the username you use and that score can be seen by other visitors. We may remove a score or a username that is abusive or that appears to have been faked. Filters such as today, this week, and all time describe the board. They are not a promise that every historical score is stored forever.
Advertising
The site loads Google’s AdSense script and shows labeled advertisement placeholders. This September 23, 2026 revision does not turn on live ad units. If live units are added later, the privacy policy will be updated first. We are not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements if and when they are shown. An optional external support link in the footer is voluntary. You do not have to use it to practice.
Your content and your files
Test history kept in the browser, lesson progress, and an exported .sumnudata file are yours to keep or delete locally. Do not upload that file anywhere you would not want the scores read. We do not ask you to send the file in order to use the site.
Disclaimer
SumnuTyping is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the site will be available at all times or that a score will match some other typing test’s formula. We may change, suspend, or remove a feature. Guides describe the product as it works on the date printed on the guide. If a guide and the screen disagree, the screen is what you just used, and the disagreement is a bug worth an email.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SumnuTyping and its publisher are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or from your inability to use it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms by posting a new version and changing the date above. A material change is also noted on the updates log. Continued use after the new terms are posted means you accept them.
